{hats, hats and more hats}

ever since i made that first hat, i've been wanting to make more. so i did! i wanted to post some simple beanies that i made. most are done in single stitch, some are done in double stitch and some are done in both. they are so simple to make, now that i have the hang of it, and i think they are so cute. during my learning escapade i figured out how to make different sizes as well. below are some pictures of some boy beanies that i made.

by far, my favorite hat to make is for a sweet little girl! there are so many different things you can do with a hat to make it girlie and cute! the hat below i have made in some many different colors and have used ribbon and flower hair clips to add a touch of flare! i learned how to make this hat thru trial and error as well, however, i learned the special stitch by watching a tutorial on-line. there are so many things you can learn on-line!

i made this hat for a girlfriend of mine who
recently had a baby girl...adorable!

{Why all the crocheting...}

i can remember back when i was younger spending a lot of time with my dear sweet grandma. she was and still is a very special and very important person that the lord has given to me. in that time growing up i can remember doing all sorts of things with her. spaghetti dinners every tuesday, garage sales anytime, doll shopping all the time, ceramic painting some of the time, playing yahtzee a must, but when it came to my grandma's hobby of crocheting, I was NOT interested. funny now, considering that i can't seem to get the crochet hook out of my hands. my grandma came out for a visit not so long ago and while spending some time with her she taught me how to crochet. this time i was interested. she just taught me the basics, but that's all i needed, and now, well the rest is history. thanks grandma for the lessons, i love you.
