{Dress It Up With Bows}

i am always to trying to find new ways to dress up my projects. recently i came up with the idea of using satin ribbon. satin bows, of course, make any hat look so much cuter but i never thought to add them to the little crocheted baby boots. instead of using buttons i attached satin bows and i must say they turned out so much cuter than i thought. the pictures really don't do them justice. a sweet, dear friend of mine offered to sell some of my projects at a craft fair held at her church in vacaville, ca. below are a few of the things i am sending her way! :) thanks sweet friend of mine!

{my latest creation}

so i wanted to make a chunky looking hat that would look adorable on a newborn. i can just picture it, a newborns first picture wearing this hat...it's sweet with a satin bow! of course, i don't think anyone would argue that anything on a newborn would look cute but i think this would add a little sweetness! :)

{baby shower gift}

my mom recently asked me to make a baby shower gift for a friend of hers. i, of course, was happy to do it and i must say, i was very pleased with how it turned out! the gift is actually three items. after i made one item i got another idea to make another item and so on....so her shower gift has three items instead!  below are pictures of what i made!

i was making these cute little slippers, which i added one of my
fabric flowers instead of a button, and i thought i would
add a cute matching newsboys hat..also with a fabric flower!

this is one of my favorite patterns! i actually tweaked the pattern
because i didn't like how they first came out...but in the end i thought
they were pretty adorable... i can make these size 0-24 months!

along with this gift i have also been playing around with other slipper patterns.i did make a similiar pair to the pink slippers which are below . i also figured that i have been making alot of girlie items and that it would be fun to make something for a boy. i found a pattern for little loafers! i can make them in 0-24 months as well! they are so darling!!

{thinking Fall colors}

one of my favorite seasons is Fall. i love when it begins to get cooler and the leaves on the trees begin to change colors. there is always a crisp smell in the air that reminds you that winter is right around the corner. love it! unfortunatly, Fall does not exsist in arizona! i, however have decked out my house in harvest colors and in the name of Fall i found some cute fabric that reminded me of fall and flowers to make some new hairbows for my daughter...i did throw in a pink hairbow just because she's a girl and she wears alot of pink! enjoy!!

this flower is made out of silk! so sweet!

{Why all the crocheting...}

i can remember back when i was younger spending a lot of time with my dear sweet grandma. she was and still is a very special and very important person that the lord has given to me. in that time growing up i can remember doing all sorts of things with her. spaghetti dinners every tuesday, garage sales anytime, doll shopping all the time, ceramic painting some of the time, playing yahtzee a must, but when it came to my grandma's hobby of crocheting, I was NOT interested. funny now, considering that i can't seem to get the crochet hook out of my hands. my grandma came out for a visit not so long ago and while spending some time with her she taught me how to crochet. this time i was interested. she just taught me the basics, but that's all i needed, and now, well the rest is history. thanks grandma for the lessons, i love you.
